Job Description

Location: Factory in Bago,

Company:
We are an international group with factories and sales offices in North American, Europe and Asia. The group is opening a new factory in the Bago region. The current offices are in Yangon.

General Description:
Manage and ensure quality production from the warping and weaving process of narrow fabrics (ribbon tapes).

Weaving/Warp:
• Operate and manage warping machines to produce quality warp beams according to production schedule
• Operate tie machine for warps.
• Remove and replace warp beams and creels
• Operate and ensure looms are weaving ribbon to company quality standards, running at optimum efficiency for ribbon style being woven and achieving production targets
• Work with machine tool shop to fabricate parts, brackets, etc. as needed
• Teach, build up, and manage the capacities of a small team of weave/warp technician apprentices and operators

Maintenance and Care:
• Setup and maintain all mechanical equipment and assist with the engineering of new products.
• Responsible for maintaining and repairing machines in Weaving Department
• Responsible for the overall upkeep of looms and associated equipment.
• Diagnose equipment/process issues, determine root cause, and implement solutions.
• Create a weekly/monthly/yearly preventative maintenance program/schedule to ensure long-term optimal functionality of machines in Weaving Department
• Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule and identify and implement preventative maintenance solutions.
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting of equipment repair with a focus on robust corrective action
• Assist in spare-parts procurement through machine shop or outside vendor using existing documents. Collaborate with production operators to write and maintain production work instructions to ensure processes are accurate and are being followed
• Capable of performing equipment installation/qualification or complete equipment installation/qualification with assistance.
• Maintaining all safety aspects of the loom i.e. all control buttons and safety guards
• Work with production operators to ensure product quality questions are addressed.
• Documenting fault repairs at the loom and passing to shift Supervisor
• Monitoring spare part stock levels and following procedure of booking spare parts out when required
• Operate in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors and operate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects the environment
• Supporting the Knotter and Change Hand with the gaiting of warps
• Providing relevant documentation for warp identification, samples & pieces
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supporting the creation of SOPs when required
• Demonstrating a good understanding of different methods of production operations including loom digital technology
• Active involvement in daily team briefings seeking opportunities to provide feedback to your Shift Supervisor on areas for improvement
• Attending appropriate training sessions to improve knowledge and development
• Implementing corrective and preventative actions to eliminate defects in fabric, using Lean tools to problem solve and find root causes
• Nurturing new talent by assisting with training of apprentices and new team members

Person Profile:
• Previous experience within a similar role within the textile industry in a manufacturing environment essential
• Confidence to problem solve using Lean tools and techniques essential
• Desire to achieve operational excellence including precision and accuracy
• Drive to develop and improve ways of working to increase efficiencies
• Passionate to share knowledge with team members, to develop brand awareness and familiarity with our product

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and operators

• Good troubleshooting skills. Proficient in using metric tools.
• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in writing, reading, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to add, multiply, subtract, and divide
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence.
