Job Description

Key accountabilities

• Oversight of all logistical activities, including: procurement planning, warehousing, communications systems, vehicle fleet management, Asset Management, offices/residence equipment maintenance and managements.
• Implement and monitor logistics systems in accordance with Save the Children Myanmar logistics policies and procedures and report to Regional Supply Chain Coordinator on a regular basis.
• Ensure that regional logistics reports are compiled, checked and completed: stock, assets, fleet, fuel consumption, narrative, procurement; and to be submitted to the Support Manager and Regional Supply Chain Coordinator by the 1st of the following month.
• Conduct logistics assessment and support office set up in new project area(s) when needed.
• Implement effective monitoring tools and checklists to ensure effective and efficient logistics operations and propose recommendations to the Country Logistic when necessary.
• Responsible for all ongoing procurements according to SCI policies and procedures and for the procurement planning of each project in coordination with the respective Program Managers.
• Ensure non-local procurement requests are timely transferred to Yangon Procurement team and closely follow up the different stages of the procurement process. For local procurement, negotiate with local companies and suppliers available in Sittwe in order to obtain the best quality product at the best price, through written quotations process.
• Oversee weekly procurement reports and disseminate them to relevant staff
• Supervise and ensure regular updates on the procurement tracker
• Responsible of establishing a good warehousing / stock control system (both medical and non-medical items) consistent with Save the Children protocols and procedures. Follow up all stock transfers and ensure timely stock transfer to field sites as well as proper storage procedures and standards are in place.
• Oversee submission of weekly stock report in the warehouse.
• Supervise the coordination of transportation of staff and goods supplies to the project area or villages with the adequate security.
• Line management to the fleet assistant and ensure follow up of all Field Office’s vehicles/boats and rent vehicles/boats are road/water worthy.
• Secure and provide the adequate maintenance and safety of SCI rental vehicles and boats and ensure the regular monitoring of fuel consumption of vehicles, boats, and Motorbike.
• Any other tasks assigned by Supervisor

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• A minimum of 2 or 3years experience in a logistical role
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of work experience.
• High level of skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail and excellent numeric accuracy.
• Ability to keep clear and concise records.
• Ability to understand and follow organizational procedures.
• Experience of managing a complex filing system: both paper and electronic.
• Good team working & communication skills.
• Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
• A good level of spoken and written English.
• Experience in logistics, supply chain and/or humanitarian work.
